Motorcycle is one of the most excessively use transportation
in Indonesia, when buying car is unaffordable for most of Indonesian citizen,
then the easier solution is to buy motorcycle,
it’s like a phenomenon when a survey in 2013 state a fact that over 86,25
millions of people in Indonesia are using motorcycle as the choice of mode
transportation.
Most of people have opinion that that it is easier to reach their destination in Indonesia road condition especially in big city that traffic jam is becoming a common issue. It is actually very apprehensive when survey says that every five minutes in Indonesia accident happen on the road. And every twenty minutes one people died by said accident. So it’s not wrong that the government always campaign safety riding for all of motorcycle rider.
But a lot of expert also mostly blamed the government for this massive motorcycle phenomenon in Indonesia, they said that as long as the government not taking a serious action to upgrade mass transportation the middle to lower citizen in Indonesia who can’t afford car will always choose motorcycle as their mode of transportation.
This problem becoming so excessive especially in a big city like Jakarta when traffic jam is becoming unavoidable especially in rush hour like going in and out of work hour. The people complain that they have to spent more than three hours a day just for their journey.
The government actually have taken a few action regarding this problem, it said that the government will start to increase the volume of highway and to start a mass transportation project like MRT or Mass Rapid Transit in the capital city Jakarta.
So it is our obligation as a good citizen of Indonesia to
support and supervise our government so their program to solve the
transportation issue will be succeeded in the future for the better Indonesia.
